Summary:

16-year-old Shintaro Kurenai, a specialist in settling squabbles between people, is one day approached by the daughter of a powerful plutocratic family asking him to be her bodyguard. Adapted from a light novel(A manga adaption is running in Jump Square magazine, with art by Yamato Yamamoto, the original illustrator of the novels.)

Story: 8.5

An anime adaption started broadcast in Japan on April 3, 2008. It is written and directed by K? Matsuo. The anime version is different from the manga in that the anime takes a more dramatic approach with a slice of life feel. The story in question is not, fundamentally, a particularly complicated or original one; the anime's convoluted narrative structure just makes it seem so. In this story, teenaged Kurenai Shinkurou is a Mediator, a sort of freelance enforcer who apparently has some kind of special body. Though he attends school like any normal teenager, he gets thrown for a loop by an assignment to protect Kuhoin Murasaki, Seven-year-old is an aristocratic daughter who longs to break free of her family's stifling bonds, and she gets just the opportunity when a mysterious, influential woman named Benika helps her escape. Benika leaves Murasaki in his care (Shinkurou Kurenai), thus leading to an unusual new living arrangement for the two kids. Who has been cloistered away since birth but has decided to leave her former home. For her protection she must stay in Kure-nai's dingy apartment, a prospect initially difficult for both of them.

Animation: 8

For its style, it offers some great artistry and a perfectly. This wouldn't be the first time that Brains Base's (creator of Kamichu!& Baccano!)intricate backgrounds, mobile faces, and active, flexible character designs have fooled me into watching pap, but Kure-nai seems unlikely to be another Innocent Venus(anime). Memorable character designs, a wide-ranging color palette, and fluid gesture animation. It balances the wealth of characters and information in the opening half of the episode well, respecting viewers enough to let them piece together events on their own, but never allowing itself to get busy or confusing. But most importantly, the chemistry between Murasaki and the gentle Kure-nai is sweet and believable, and the second half pleasantly emotional

Music: 7.5

Complementary musical score which includes a unique-looking opener and closer (a 60's fashion and style) plus it's has gorgeous piano jazz/ballad soundtrack. Well i cant say more than this maybe later on I can additional to its musical score....(well its new anime what do expect geez).

Characters: 9

As typical as the above summary may sound, nothing is typical in execution about this series. Neither Kure-nai nor Kuhoin fall into any easily-definable archetypes, and while Kuhoin may be cute enough in appearance, her disposition doesn't match. In fact, none of the character look, act, or sound anything like what you may be used to seeing in anime. All right, so it sounds like an advanced version of Baby and Me for now, but there's more—it appears that various secondary characters will play a role later on, although this episode does a lousy job of introducing them and just confuses the issue. But if you can ignore the distractions of the supporting cast, the relationship between Shinkurou and Murasaki is what really shines—the boy suddenly has to grow up several years as he learns to take care of her, while the girl must survive the culture shock of being moved from extreme wealth to common city life. Being a character-driven drama, however, it probably won't hit its stride until the story moves further along and the audience gets emotionally attached.

Overall: 8.25

Series that want to be everything to everyone are a dime a dozen, but the ones that can actually do everything—action, intrigue, light humor, misty-eyed drama, and even hints of romance—in a single episode without breaking a sweat and look good in the process are considerably more valuable than that. This one is quite a ways off the beaten path, ladies and gents, but that should only give you further reason to check it out. While it may be premature to make such a claim, based on the first episode and its resent second episode alone this one has the potential to be one of the year's best.
